Thoiry Zoo is launching its 3rd edition of Thoiry Lumières Sauvages, its luminous lantern festival, scheduled from October 25, 2020 to March 7, 2021.
It has been accessible again since December 16, 2020.
More than 900 giant light sculptures await you this year to transport you to the dreams of the Comte de Thoiry.
The illuminations take place from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in order to discover the sunset and the lighting and to allow you to return before the curfew.
The ZooSafari of Thoiry invites us again this year, from October 25, 2020 to March 7, 2021, to discover the largest Chinese lantern festival in Ile-de-France: Thoiry Lumières Sauvages. A magnificent show to rediscover since December 16, 2020.
This year, in addition to the 700 lanterns restored by the park’s teams of artists, 4 containers arrived at the end of August with nearly 300 new lanterns on board.
For this 3rd edition, the Zoo de Thoiry takes us into the dreams of the Comte de Thoiry, a great explorer of the Renaissance.
We set off to discover a new 1.5 km course over 3 hectares to marvel at dreamlike worlds where real and imaginary creatures, magical plants, beyond known lands, in remote times or to come. . Everything mixes and fiction and reality come together.
Welcomed in a “great renaissance party” atmosphere, we are then invited to immerse ourselves in an enchanting journey, to distant lands, to discover the beauties of our Earth. From underwater worlds to dinosaurs, exotic mammals, dragons, plants and fanciful flowers, these life-size lanterns transport young and old into a magical world populated by elves and poetry.
Entirely made by hand and covered in fabric, these unique works, specially created and designed at the request of the zoo, will light up at nightfall to offer a magical and enchanting journey.
Imagine more than 1,000 luminous characters, plants and animals, 8,000 LED bulbs for a journey that promises to be even more grandiose.
